The Father & Son Challenge is not a time to retreat. Fathers and sons are led into the wilderness where inspiration, adventure and challenge forge a deep spiritual experience. Men and their sons will be strengthened in their relationships and their understanding of their unique roles in God's Kingdom.


As they struggle and play together, fathers will see their sons in a new light. Sons will experience the love of their father in a unique and powerful way. Together men and boys discover important lessons about God’s intended purpose for their lives. Through physical, mental and spiritual adventures, breakthrough occurs.


The end result...men and their boys will return home as new fathers and young men with lasting impressions of an adventure that has given them new insights into their lives and their relationship with one another and with God. Choices were made, identity was discovered and they can no longer be the same.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Location: West Virginia

Date: July 17-20, 2025

Age Range for Sons: 14-18 yrs old

Cost: $795 (see FAQ's for payment options)

Max Participants:  25 father & son pairs

Start:  Thursday, July 17, 2025 between 6:00pm-7:00pm (EST)

Finish: Sunday, July 20, 2025 at 12:00pm (EST)
Activities: Whitewater rafting, hiking
Transportation: Attendees are responsible for their own transportation to and from the event.

  • West Virginia International Yeager Airport (CRW), Charleston, WV - 1.5 hour.
  • Roanoke–Blacksburg Regional Airport (ROA), Roanoke, VA - 2.75 hours.
  • Pittsburg International Airport (PIT), Pittsburg, PA - 3.75 hours.
  • Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT), Charlotte, NC - 3.75 hours.


**All travel times listed are without traffic or delays. Please allow for extra travel time as needed.

FAQs

  • Who can join the Father & Son Challenge?

    The Father & Son Challenge is for fathers and their 14-18-year-old son. Though the Father & Son Weekend will be a great time for bonding and relationship building, it is not a retreat. There are no bunk beds or hot showers. You will need to walk/hike considerable distances carrying your backpack with needed equipment. Fathers and sons will discover their capacity to rise to a challenge and do more together. 

  • Can I bring more than one son?

    The Father & Son Challenge is designed for a father and one son to experience together. The program is designed in such a way that you will need to give your full attention to only one son at a time.

  • What does the Father & Son Challenge cost and what are the payment options?

    Total Cost: $795 per pair

    Payment Options: 


    Pay in full - at registration 

    Pay a $395 Deposit -  at registration 

    • Make a Final Payment of $400 - due by May 19, 2025 
    • *Late payment will incur a $50 late fee. 

    This cost includes everything needed for your Father & Son experience excluding the items on your pack list and transportation to and from the event.

  • What do I need to bring?

    Pack List

    We have a very specific pack list for you to follow.  You are allowed to ONLY bring what is on the pack list.  We encourage men to borrow or share equipment.
